Copyright, Trademarks, and Patents with MDVLA
Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (MDVLA) presents a workshop for artists on the fundamentals of intellectual property law. The session will cover what copyrights, trademarks, and patents protect—and what they do not—as well as ownership rights and ways to prevent or respond to infringement.
The workshop is designed to address practical questions artists may encounter, including sharing copyright with a co-author on song lyrics, whether a clothing design can be patented, and whether registering a trademark for a logo is appropriate.
