Christmas with C.S. Lewis

Christmas with C.S. Lewis is a theatrical holiday presentation centered on Lewis’s transformation from an atheist and skeptic of the Nativity story into a Christian. The production traces the pivotal influence of his friendship with fellow author J.R.R. Tolkien, who persuaded Lewis that the story of Jesus was more than a comforting myth.

Set on Christmas Eve at Lewis’s home near Oxford, the play follows his efforts to entertain a group of Americans spending the holiday in England. Through stories and memories, the gathering moves through humor, curiosity, joy, and more reflective moments, revealing how Lewis’s encounter with Tolkien permanently changed the way he understood and celebrated Christmas.
