Midweeks - Tiny Tots: The Nutcracker: A Magical Tale in Mt. Vernon
Midweeks: Tiny Tots presents a Baltimore-set reimagining of Tchaikovsky’s *The Nutcracker* by Amy Hall Garner. The production replaces the original story’s historical ethnic identities with Baltimore landmarks and figures, creating a locally focused interpretation for young audiences. Baltimore School for the Arts dancers perform alongside the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, with Jiannan Cheng conducting and Maria Broom hosting.
The concert is part of the BSO’s Midweek Education series, which introduces students to orchestral music through engaging, kid-friendly performances. Each concert runs for less than an hour, and a teacher resource guide is provided to help educators prepare students for the experience.
