Jones Falls 2076 Community Design Charette
Join The Peale for a participatory design session focused on imagining the future of Baltimore’s Jones Falls. Facilitated by Maura Dwyer of the Neighborhood Design Center, the charette invites participants to reflect on the Jones Falls 2076 exhibition, discuss its ideas together, and create physical responses that express their own interpretations and aspirations for the river.
The session is part of Jones Falls 2076, an exhibition exploring alternative futures for the Jones Falls through 14 newly commissioned speculative works by artists, designers, writers, and community members. The exhibition considers how the river might be unburied, restored, reconnected, and re-centered as an ecological, social, and civic heart of Baltimore. It also surveys historical plans and visions for the waterway, from efforts to bury or divert it to more recent proposals to daylight and reclaim it.
