Munch

Munch is an event film centered on the 2013 Munch 150 exhibition in Oslo, which marked the 150th anniversary of Edvard Munch’s birth. Organized jointly by Oslo’s National Museum and Munch Museum, the exhibition brought together 220 paintings, including a major selection of Munch’s most important works.

The film explores how the exhibition was assembled behind the scenes and presents an in-depth portrait of Munch, who lived from 1863 to 1944 and worked through the German occupation of Norway during World War II. It also considers the worldwide fascination with Munch, including the record-setting sale of one of the four paintings of *The Scream*. Special guests provide expert commentary and insight, with the discussion hosted by Tim Marlow.
